Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) is a common disease in children with symptoms of inattention, impulsivity, and sometimes hyperactivity. Doctors and specialists are not yet capable of an exact cause of ADD in children to feed. Morning Sickness – When it Starts and When it Ends

Can A Pregnant Woman Have Morning Sickness Throughout Any Stage Of Pregnancy?

When a woman gets pregnant she thinks about many questions during pregnancy even if she’s been pregnant before. It is only natural that she should have these questions and concerns, and it’s a good sign that she will make an excellent, caring mother. Even women who are not yet pregnant have many questions about pregnancy because it is a topic of great interest for them because every woman faces that reality. One of the most asked questions about pregnancy concerns is when does morning sickness start, how bad is it, and when will it end?

This is a good question for a woman to ask because she should be planning and preparing to face this unpleasant reality. Not all women experience morning sickness, and some women don’t experience it with every pregnancy. Each woman and each pregnancy is different. However, every woman should be ready to deal with it just in case it happens to them.

Nausea and vomiting is not pleasant at all, and no one looks forward to it. But, as uncomfortable as it is, this really is a good thing for the baby during pregnancy. Unfortunately it is not so great for the mother.

What causes morning sickness and why is it good for the baby? Basically the female body is reacting to the sudden increase in estrogen levels during pregnancy. The estrogen triggers an automatic protective response in the mother’s body. Everything in the mother’s body becomes focused on protecting the baby inside the womb. If there are potentially harmful toxins in the body or if the mother’s blood sugar levels are not in a good normal range, the reaction can be nausea and vomiting, aka morning sickness. Sometimes a woman’s craving for strange combinations of food at bedtime may result in morning nausea too.

When should a woman expect to have morning sickness? Typically it occurs in the waking hours during the first few weeks or months of pregnancy. During the morning it tends be strongest, but some women experience nausea all day long. It is usually stronger at the beginning of the pregnancy and decreases as pregnancy continues. Some women never experience morning sickness at all. Other unfortunate moms experience it during their entire pregnancy, but this is not common. Most women will experience it for about a month during their first trimester of pregnancy.

Some common tips for women experiencing morning sickness is to ensure that you are taking good quality prenatal vitamins. Quality prenatal vitamins have extra B vitamins along with many other essential micronutrients to help aid the body to metabolize food and maintain a normal blood sugar level. Naturally one of the most important things every pregnant mother needs to do is drink plenty of drinking water every day, and eat well-balanced nutritious snacks and meals throughout the day.

Another helpful tip is to keep some crackers and clear soda on the nightstand near the bed. Before getting up and leaving bed in the morning, first take a small sip of the clear soda and then have a cracker. Doing this will help to quickly elevate the blood sugar levels in the body, which usually drops significantly during the night.

Yet another thing to keep in mind is that pregnancy women often become hypersensitive to smells. Scents that never bothered them before may cause nausea and vomiting. Morning smells such as coffee or bacon may trigger a morning sickness response. If this is the case, you need to avoid those scents until they are no longer a factor for the pregnant woman.

Morning sickness is perfectly natural and quite common although unpleasant. It usually occurs during the beginning of pregnancy and tends to last for a few weeks up to a month. There are a few things that women can do to lessen the effects of morning sickness. Of course, all pregnant women need to consult with their physicians and alert them to any changes or concerns they have about their body. If morning sickness symptoms become too much to bear, or persist for too long then the doctor needs to be consulted so she can help manage the symptoms for the pregnant woman.

Pregnancy should be a joyous occasion, but morning sickness can ruin it. There are things women can do to lessen the effects of morning sickness.

Are Natural Prenatal Vitamins Best For Your Unborn Baby at 5 and a Half Weeks?

Introduction

The majority of women know that for a healthy pregnancy it is essential to take prenatal vitamins. This fact is evidenced by the amount of activity concerning this particular subject on Yahoo Answers alone! It is usual for mothers to be concerned about wanting to do what is best for their unborn baby. There is allot of conflicting advice around on the Internet on this particular subject. This article provides some straight answers to some of the questions posed. When is the best time to start taking prenatal vitamins? What exactly are the natural occurring varieties and are these best for your unborn baby? You can find out the answers to these questions by reading through the rest of my article below…

When should I start taking prenatal vitamins?

If you are planning to have a baby it’s beneficial to begin a course of these types of vitamins prior to conception. This is because in order for the vitamins to benefit your baby’s development, they need to be present in the woman’s body in the first four weeks of fetal development.

Which one should I be taking?

Many folks ask this question. The short answer is that you need to be aware that the most important prenatal vitamin to take is folic acid. In some countries you can get this from your doctor on a free prescription once your doctor has confirmed that you are pregnant.

What are natural vitamins and are these best for your unborn baby?

Natural prenatal vitamins are those that occur naturally in foods and other plants. Although these substances may provide some benefit to your unborn baby at 5 1/2 weeks, because these types of supplements are considered as foods they are not regulated by the FDA (U.S Food and Administration).

As a result, it is very difficult to be certain what you are actually putting inside your body when you are take these substances and therefore what the short-term benefits are likely to be for you and your unborn child. Our advice is to stick to the laboratory generated vitamins which are regulated, especially while you’re pregnant.

Fertility Vitamins and Prenatal Vitamins

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Many women are either confused about what to look for in fertility vitamins or they don’t see the need to take vitamins at all. Let me take some time to explain why vitamin supplements are necessary in order to increase your fertility as well as why prenatal vitamins are necessary prior to and during pregnancy for you and your unborn child. Most women don’t get the vitamins and minerals needed from the food they eat from day to day. We would have to eat a whole lot of fruits, vegetables, meats, and grains in order to get the balance of vitamins and minerals that our bodies need to thrive and be our healthiest.

Women’s vitamins are especially important when a woman is trying to conceive and during pregnancy. These are specifically called prenatal vitamins.

Prenatal vitamins supply a rich assortment of vitamins and minerals to help a woman conceive and bring forth a healthy baby. These vitamins and minerals are necessary to help keep our hormones balanced and our nervous system running smoothly as well as keeping all our organs functioning optimally.

Let me stress – We all need to take a multivitamin and multi mineral supplement to make up for what is lacking in the food we eat. Even the best diet in the world will not give you all the nutrients you need for your best chance at getting pregnant and bringing forth an optimally healthy child.

So what do you look for? What are the qualities of the best fertility vitamins and prenatal vitamin supplements?

Well, I’m no expert. But I can tell you what I took that helped me to be more fertile and energetic and have a trouble-free pregnancy. I looked into several prenatal vitamins before choosing what I believe to be the best multi vitamin supplement that’s all natural and made from organically-grown plant compounds (see below). The other prenatal vitamins were synthetically made with artificial coloring.

I also ate lots of fruits and vegetables and drank a lot of purified water. (See my Preconception page for more on this.) Make sure your multivitamin has at least 400 mcg of folic acid (I took 800 mcg daily) in order to prevent neural tube defects in your unborn baby. This neural tube develops within the first month of life, so it’s important to get enough folic acid before you get pregnant.

* Remember that even the best multi vitamin supplement won’t replace eating a healthy diet with lots of fruits, vegetables, dairy products, grains, meats, and drinking lots of purified water. Both a healthy diet and a great multi vitamin supplement are needed to increase your fertility and ensure that you have a healthy pregnancy.

Vitamins and Nutrients Especially Needed During Pregnancy

You should eat foods packed with nutrients during pregnancy, which is actually the basic principle of healthy eating when you are not pregnant. However, there are a few nutrients that are especially important during pregnancy. These include:

o Folate and folic acid

o Calcium

o Protein

o Iron

A B vitamin that helps prevent neural tube defects, serious abnormalities of the brain and spinal cord is “folate.” If your body lacks sufficient folate an increase for risk of preterm delivery may be an extra problem for you. Low birth weight and poor fetal growth has also been reported due to insufficient folate during pregnancy. Folic acid is the synthetic form of folate found in supplements and fortified foods.

You need 1 milligram (1,000 micrograms) of folic acid per day before conception and during pregnancy.

The following list contains good sources of folate:

o Cereal (3/4 cup 100 percent fortified ready-to-eat cereal provides 400 micrograms of folate)

o Meat (3 ounces of beef liver provides 185 micrograms of folate

o Spinach (1/2 cup boiled spinach provides 100 micrograms of folate

o Beans (1/2 cup boiled Great Northern beans provides 90 micrograms of folate

o Asparagus (4 spears boiled asparagus provides 85 micrograms of folate

o Oranges (1 small orange provides 30 micrograms of folate)

Another important aspect of getting enough folate is taking prenatal vitamins. You probably should start taking daily prenatal vitamins at least three months before pregnancy.

Calcium is always a must for women before, during and after pregnancy. You and your baby need calcium for strong bones and teeth as well as helping your circulatory, muscular and nervous systems run smoothly. During pregnancy your baby will rob you of all the calcium it needs. It is essential you take in enough calcium for you and the baby.

You need 1,000 milligrams of calcium per day.

Good sources of calcium include:

o Dairy products are the richest in calcium

o Fruit juices fortified with calcium

o Breaskfast cereals fortified with calcium

Yogurt, milk, cheese, juice, salmon, spinach, cereal should all be a matter of staples in your diet before, during and after pregnancy.

How much you need: 1,000 milligrams a day.

Good sources: Dairy products are the richest sources of calcium. Many fruit juices and breakfast cereals are fortified with calcium.

Protein is especially crucial for your baby’s growth during the second and third trimesters. Protein also aids in repairing your cells and your body changes. You need 71 grams of protein per day.

Good sources of protein include:

o Poultry

o Fish

o Cottage Cheese

o Milk

o Peanut Butter

o Eggs

Iron is used to make hemoglobin, a protein in the red blood cells that carries oxygen to your tissues. Iron is also essential for women before, during and after pregnancy. Iron remains an essential for women throughout her life and even after menopause. During pregnancy your need for iron almost doubles.

Without enough iron you may get fatigued and more susceptible to infections. The risk of preterm delivery and low birth weight may also be higher. You need 27 milligrams of iron per day, possibly more during pregnancy, according to your doctor’s instructions.

Good sources of iron include:

o Cereal

o Beans

o Spinach

o Meat

o Poultry

Typically a prenatal vitamin will contain iron. However, in some cases, your health care provider may recommend a separate iron supplement.

To help fill in the gaps of key nutrients, a daily prenatal vitamin staring ideally three months before conception is essential. Special supplements may also be recommended by your health care provider depending on your particular situation. If you consider taking herbal supplements, always be sure your health care provider gives you the OK to take them during pregnancy.
